I'd be up for evening rides around the red (bike and skills aren't up to the black) - out of interest how long does it take you to get round the route?

Can do tuesdays, wednesdays or thursdays...

I'll be there on sunday.

Cheers

Louise.

Hi Louise,

It takes me about one & half hours but I am not fast at all. Not done the black myself (yet). I should hopefully be there tomorrow afternoon (again) and might manage to get there on Sunday but am doing Penmachno on Saturday so will have to see how I feel Sunday.

I am struggling to get out on an evening but that will change in a few weeks when my nightschool finishes, so hopefully we can get something arranged as there seems to be quite a few of us in this area.

Cool, I should be there just after 3 and my aim is to do the red and then possibly the blue, legs willing!

Ok I'll see how quick I get round on sunday and then might join you next week! I don't want to slow everyone down .

I doubt you would slow me down (I slow Gwyn down!) but honestly don't worry about it. I have started riding in a club with mainly blokes and they often have to wait for me and they don't care, it is all about going at your own pace and enjoying yourself. If I feel under pressure and try to ride to keep up, thats when things go wrong and I fall off.

In my opinion if anyone has a problem with others not keeping up etc. then they should not be riding in a group, they should do their own thing so that they can go at the pace they want to.

So it would be great to meet up next week

Ok, so I got very very muddy and a pinch flat... but other than that I think it took about 1.5h (maybe a little longer!).

Does anyone fancy Llandegla red on Thursday evening? I'll be trying out my new front shock that the workshop are fitting so will be ready to go from around 5.30...

Cheers

I'd be up for a Wenesday night ride- in theory, work depending. Gwyneth how the devil are you?

Are you riding around the Welsh hills this weekend? Could do with taking my bike for a little spin.

Lou - I was at Llandegla this afternoon left about 6.30pm fab weather !

Was ace wasn't it . I was there from 5.30...

Just had a new front shock fitted so was trying it out on the Blue. Handling will take a few rides to get used to and I can feel the extra weight on the front - but it's great to have a shock that actually travels!!

I wasn't sure about going round the red by myself but the blue did feel a bit short so I think I'll bite the bullet next time, and there seem to be lots of other people around anyway.

Thats the main reason why I do the forest routes if I'm on my own. If you come off or have a serious mechanical you are not too far from civilisation and there are people about. I did the black then the red, although it's mainly the same route isn't it !

If you're in the area and fancy a variety of routes the North Wales Mountain Bike Association have started their summer programme of wednesday night rides starting at 7 from Mold Sports Centre and heading off around the Clwyds. See the forum at www.northwalesmba.co.uk for further information.
