I finally got my tubeless tyre set up today, it was relatively easy... took 2 of us half hour. Having had a nightmare season last year with punctures i thought it was time... running 29" tyres made it a nightmare to get spare inner tubes off the shelf, and "slime" puncture resistant tubes don't come in 29" size as yet. anyone else going gone tubeless??

Yep. I have some Stans rims on order for singlespeed and I'll be having new wheels built for my geared full sus before transwales and I'll be going tubeless on that. One less thing to worry about is how I see it.

Good luck with fitting them, soapy water, can't get enough of it is my recommendation, that and a gas cannister to blow it up quick ;0)

I'm thinking about it but still not 100% convinced.

I'm think i'm going to have to go tubeless - my rims are designed for it (sun black eye) but I am running them with tubes at the moment.  This means it is a total ballache to get the tyre on and off to fix a puncture.  I can't even do it myself they are so tight which means if I get a puncture out on my own I am basically stranded.  Because of a stupid puncture!  So I definately have plans to go tubeless.  I have heard so much good stuff about the difference it makes to the handling too, so I am running out of excuses not too.  I'm just too disorganised to get the kit together to do it

I know what you mean, i was unsure, but stoped off at my local shop the other day and the guy in there talked me through what i would need to do, it looked complicated but was dead easy.. if you don't know what kit to buy you could call this guy he knows all rim /tyre combinations and will send you what you need..http://www.justridingalong.co.uk/contact.php?pid=521&jrasid=29921c1354708179a7de3273bc793e03  the only other thing you will need is a good track pump, and to be able to blow it up really fast, ideally 2 of you to do it as it is better not to put the wheel down..

I found watching these movie clips made me wanna go tubeless too http://www.notubes.com/support_movies.php

Good luck!

Excellent - i'll look into it.  I was actually going to borrow a compressor from a mate to get the air in - as I had heard that was the best way of all????? (although, I admit, I am slightly worried about a catastophic bang lol)

I've been tubless for a couple of years - I use mavic rims and tubless tires rather than a kit.

The Stans latex will seal small punctures and larger ones are really easy to mend with the panaracer tubless repair it - loads easier than fixing or changing an inner tube. The wee pressurised cannisters are good to have on the trail to reinflate your tyre after a punture.
