Hey there,

I've just moved to Glasgow and having some trouble finding people to go riding with. Tried the GMBC, but the boyz were super-fit and left me for dust! I'm not a total beginner, but need to get out more to get my fitness and skills up. Happy to travel for rides but if anyone up for after work evening rides around Glasgow now the nights lighter, that would be cool too...........

Cheers,

Sam

Hey girl.

Stirling Bike club have a ladies night every monday, it's verrrrry laid back.  I think we're having a social at CV we'll do a lap then have tea & cake in the camper van.  It's just an ice breaker for the new girls.

U'll get more info on their wed site.

See u soon.

Hi

sorry for the reply ages later but I haven't had internet and been on holiday for a month.   I've not been in Glasgow for long but same as you I found GMBC pretty fast too.  Am convinced I can keep up with them but only if I get a bit of training!  Get in touch if you fancy a ride at the weekend or one night this week.  elizabeth_a_odonnell at hotmail.com

Hi Girls,

Just  introducing myself............. like yourself Sam me to I am having challenges finding cycle buddies thought all I had to do was find a cycle club in my local area Livingston West Lothian.  Only to find that the ones that are up and running are a bit too advanced for me.  So if there are any ladies like myself who would like to get in touch with me to go for a gentle bike ride to begin with untill i get more practice in lol.  I simply want to get myself out and about I just quit smoking and want to enjoy the outdoors again.

 Cheers Bren

Hi

A few of us are planning a ride this Sunday.  We've not finalised our plans yet as we need to see who's coming and what kind of bikes.  If everyone has a road bike then we'll go from Glasgow to Edinburgh (via the Sustrans route rather than the canal, though the last time i tried I got lost in Coatbridge which was a bit scary).  If not then we might go mountain biking somewhere.  The pace isn't likely to be too fast.  Get in touch if you're interested.  We're out quite a lot of weekends, when not racing.

Hello Elizabeth,

Sorry but I  wont be able to join the few of you who are planning a ride this Sunday.  I feel the distance and pace even if it isn't likely to be too fast it prob will be just a tadd too much for me.  I don't like being a defeatest but as mentioned above short gentle bike ride to begin with untill I get more practice in lol.  Have fun and enjoy yourselves

Hiya,

I realise this thread is quite old now but if anyone is still out there then im also looking for friends

Im recovered from a serious accident and am regaining my fitness bit by bit...its quite important that i dont go crazy though so am looking for people with enthusiasm and determination rather than super fitness.....Im moderatly fit myself but nowhere near the bike club level

Anyhoo, im near Falkirk in Bonnybridge and work in Glasgow, Ive been to carron Valley a few times and am looking for night ride companions for there too if youre brave enough !! But thats another thread really
