TH, why don't you join R's team & with Ads you'd only need 1 more.

Ads I got really fit doing SITS last year - go on, you know you want to - kiss the granny gear goodbye!

Hi

I'd be interested insthis but not sure if I'll be away. I've only been riding a couple of months and need to improve my fitness quite a bit (although staying awake is never an issue for me except on Sunday afternoons !). I''ll be 28 by then so not young but youngish and hopefully not complete beginner. Like Ads, I'd look at it more from a social point of of view rather than being ultra serious

I'm completely new to the forums by the way and this is my very first post. Hello !

Show/hide user stats
that sounds great steph - i def think it will be  a sociable fun affair knowing both of those two  when would you know dates.  we'd only need one more then ... she doesn't want to do it with her mum!

I should be able to confirm in the next couple of weeks if that's ok ! My partner is all for me doing it and I'm sure I can convince him that Greece in August will be way too hot for a palefaced ginger like him
Show/hide user stats
totally agree - greece is for october adn november when there are no mtb events on. far too hot. where are you from steph?
Show/hide user stats

Greece in August is deffinately HOT, we have been there then, infact in one days ride i drank 7 and half litres of water

You wud be better going when its slightly cooler

I'm in Manchester treehugger, although not yet good enough to ride with the South Manchester Massive, I'm hoping to start doing the ladies rides from NW Mountain Bikes soon though because I don't like going riding with all blokes !

Other half is pursuaded and is now my pit crew. Handy as he knows how to pitch our tend and how to give a good neck massage !

How long has your daughter been riding treehugger ?.

Show/hide user stats

She hasn't been riding very long at all - but is very keen to get fit. Just a few months really. I am trying to bring her out into the Peak at least once a week, adn she goin to the gym once ot twice a week as well.

Lucky you're in Manchester, Steph. We're in SHeff. There are loads of ladies of all abilities here in the Peak district - see Peak disitrict rides in Events and Rides sections. Plenty of ladies from the Manchester area and North Peak as well as from down this end. Rides most weekends.

If you are mobile, why dont you meet up with Ads, me andn Robinn for a leisurely social ride. We know a few beginnerish rides. Or you could get the train and we'll meet you somewhere like Hope or Hathersage or Sheff.

Show/hide user stats

That would be great ! I don't drive but am very good at public transport.

I've got rides planned for the next 4 weeks, but we should def. meet up and do something soon.

Gosh, I'm all excited. I'm in a similar boat to your daughter (although probably a fatter boat), want to get fit and have fun and this is giving me something to work towards. 145 days to go...
Show/hide user stats

hi Steph - are you free on the 12th April for a ride? we could all go out and see how we get on?

hetty are you free that weekend?

Show/hide user stats

Hi Ads

I'm going camping that weekend in Conwy with friends so definitely can't go then. Can do the weekend after that though.

Show/hide user stats
ooh yes hetty - forgot to look a bit farther up - i met you on the hayfield ride. come on quick - have another glass of wine. Or at least do as ads says and come ou tfor a social ride soon. 12th April is the Welsh merida though Ads, so me adn Robinn will be away. Is there another weekend we could meet up?
Show/hide user stats

th - ooh is that the weekend of 12th? i fancy doing that still - just don't fancy getting there by myself; you know how i can get lost in my own villiage i'll see if my mate trudi  or hetty? fancies coming with me- sharing the car journey
