Just build up very slowly, I would stay on road till you are stronger as well. Glad you are feeling better.

Hello! Me and Trio we're talking about you the other day and wondering if you were on the mend! Good news your back on the bike. Take it slowly and you'll be alright. Like Trio says stick to road riding for now build back up to the rough stuff. Come out on the tarmac with us sometime if you like, we could pedal down your way?

debz do you have access to a turbo trainer, or cycles at a gym? Have been doing a mile on the road on my bike over past couple of weeks, but have been trying to build up strength/fitness by using a static trainer over past 4-5 weeks. This means my legs are capable of riding but it is my arm that is less than happy... A turbo also means you do not have to go thru the faff of dressing up in multiple layers in order to just ride a mile, a chore in itself that takes me almost as long as the cycle ride. And well done at being allowed back out, keep going.

keep at it and take it handy... build up mileage very slowly and keep an eye on your injury in case it starts bothering you...
felt the exact same way you described after i got on the bike after fracturing my vertebrae last summer- fitness started to come back after some consistent cycling.

The forcast is why it is becommig a Rivi ride, the original plan had been Darwen Tower and back.

We were going to meet at 10am so what about 12ish at either the Lower Barn or the Chapel. Is the Chapel open on a Monday I don't know. I'll e-mail my mobile Sharon in case change of plan. Ah can't seem to get into you 'In box' Sharon.

Ok Carollyn got your number, the Chapel is open on Mondays, can meet anytime from 10ish onwards.

12noon makes sense. I'm meeting Carolyn at 10am so we can do two hours riding and then it'll be time of bacon baps and chocolate cake We'll be easy to spot, we'll be the ones covered in mud!

In the same boat as you Debz. Last ride was on the 27th of January. This was for beginners and I couldn't even keep up with them. So today I did a 2 mile off roader on flatishi terrain. Just took it really easy and now feel fantastic. This is my second ride in 6 months, so I really do need to slowly build up my fitness. Just a can't wait to get back on the bike properly and get back to normal. Oh yes especially getting out with my biking buddies again.
Yep 12 is fine. Mrs NBT what happened to you ?
Glad you are out on your bike again Mrs NBT, take it slowly though!

I'm finally feeling well again after a year of catching virus's and just being unable to do any excersise in general. The doctor say's I have 'post viral fatique syndrome', luckily it is mild and I'll recover, it just takes time. But as you can imagine I've been really frustrated at not being able to cycle. Hope to catch up with everybody in a few months. Jane. How are you doing Trio?
Well she was enjoying the luxury of a mudpack/facial lastt ime I saw her
Tried to send you a message Mrs NBT but you don't accept them! Yes I think I had a very muddy face at the cafe yesterday, I certainly attracted a lot of attention.
