Well i think all my plans and training for the year have ben ruined by my knackered knee and shoulder. The knee has been great for 18months following a bone/cartilage graft, it seems it has failed, gets jammed when straight and hurts like hell. Been booked on emergency surgery list to get it fixed.. trouble is the shoulder i injured at SITS 07 means i cant use crutches as i am waiting for it to be fixed too.. am well and truly fed up and falling apart!

You poor thing.  Hang in there, hopefully you will recover quick from the op and be back on track soon.

bummer...

am trying to think of something fun to do that doesn't need knees and shoulders, all I can think of is getting a wheelchair, fitting some fat tyres and suspension to it and finding somewhere that has a chairlift.

hope you get sorted out soon.

Sorry to hear about your troubles.  Think positive - once they've been fixed and you have mended you'll be back doing what you want to do. Even if you will require a wheelchair for a while, let me tell you - it will really open your eyes to the world of wheelchair users (I speak from experience)!!!! Keep your chin up and all the best with your op and your recovery :0)

how about one of those powered mobility things, I nearly got run over by one from behind yesterday and she did not even warn me she was coming or say sorry

A GREAT EXCUSE TO BE RUDE!!!

Yeah i think i will get another quad bike, can cause more damage!!

I can still kinda ride my bike (with the aid of legal drugs), but am unable to stand up on pedals. So I am using a spin bike 4 times a week ad having gentle road rides to keep fitness up til i'm fixed. I have already entered several 12 hour races for later in the year..should be interesting with one arm and leg,lol

I have seen both surgeons this week, looking at shoulder decompression/arthroscope within 16 weeks. Knee-arthoscope to assess damage, if graft has failed then start again (2 months non weight bearing-lets hope not!) oh and screw removal left tibia at same time.. great, so much for a better year!

Gayle, do i need an excuse to be rude?? hee hee

- Hope the news is good
