anyone know if these brakes are anygood? im getting a set later on tonight for free of this nice man i kind of know,but are they any good?

I've got some hayes 9. They're OK. I've had some problems with the pistons sticking and not retreating when needed so the pads often rub a little. I've been pleased with them on the hole. They scored 9/10 in a What Mountain Bike disc brake test a few months ago so they obviously rated them.

I've just bought some Avid Juicy 5s for my new hardtail to see if they're any better and try out something new.

But if I got given some hayes 9 for free then I'd be dead chuffed!!

thank you. i've put them on the bike and they seem ok. pistons seem to move in and out ok,so just need a set of pads now which i'll pick up this morning if my lbs as them,which i very much doudt. and i'll go try them out.
