Has anyone who suffers from asthma tried Buteyko? If so, does it is help and does it help with breathing when cycling?

My Osteopath just mentioned it to me, apparently its to do with teaching you to breath properly and can improve asthma. She's suggested it as it might help with my asthma. Theres more informaton here if, like me, you have no idea what it is:

I'd be intersted to know if anyone has tried it. Or if anyone has heard anything good/bad about it.

Thanks.

My mum's been trying to convince me to try breathing exercises for ages. She read an article in the paper that said it may help asthma. I'm not particularly convinced though.

I'm not overly convinced either. I've been asthmatic since I was 2, so thinking of reading up a bit more about it before I give it a go.

Hi ae,

I've also been thinking of trying it to help my ME and asthma, but i'm struggling to find a practitioner in the NE.

Its used regularly un Russia and Australia as a treatment for asthma, and my osteopath also suggested it.

If you decide to give it a go please let me know how you get on.

Cheers,

jayne
