Hi everyone,

I just came across this site (followed the link from the Bike Magic forum) and I'm thrilled to see a women only cycling forum.

My partner and I have recently dusted off our old '93 Orange Clockworks and started riding round the local lanes (we live in Norfolk so it's nice and flat for unfit forty year olds.)

I plan on putting around 2-3 hours a week in the saddle to build up my fitness before we hit our old trails in Thetford and the South Downs (and who knows, we may branch out to the Peak District in 2006 - it depends on whether the legs are up to it or not!)

I'm chuffed this evening because our new Minoura RDA 850 trainer arrived and it's fabulous! By the time I get home from work in the winter it's already dark, so I aim to clock up a good few miles on this while watching my old MTB videos.

Looking forward to getting to know you all,

All the best, Janey

Clockwork Orange eh.. not seen in of those for years, thats what my husband rode when I first met him.
Well good luck with your training, how come you stopped biking ?

Deja vu - thats how I met my partner through both having orange clockworks - they are both still hanging around!

Hi Janey
Welcome - I only found this lot last week too and have already found some folks to ride with! We live close to Newmarket so can get to Thetford quickly if you fancy an outing sometime.
Used to live on the edge of the South Downs so know that well too - although not been there for 5 years.
Enjoy the turbo - I'm putting it off for as long as possible!

My husband has an old Clockwork Orange in the garage, too; small world :o)

There's a lot of old Clockworks around - they last forever if you look after them!

Caro, I stopped biking when my partner became seriously ill (kidney failure) - his illness took over both our lives, and before I knew it a whole decade had passed! He's had a transplant now, though, so we're both raring to go again.

Jo - I'd definitely be up for a ride at Thetford, though I think I ought to take a rain check for a few months while I work on building up my fitness - by your profile you sound tons fitter than me! :o)

Lovely to meet you all,

Janey
