When you cough up phlegm when you have a cold what colour should it be?

All the colours of the snot rainbow, in my experience. I wouldn't worry too much about the colour first thing in the morning, but if you're still coughing up the really ugly green stuff later in the day, that's not so good.

i always thought it should be clear, anything else is an infection??????? might be worth a google. Still feeling poorly Pootle?

My cold has departed but my nose is still in overdrive for some reason.

Well i did google it, and coughing up phlegm that is green, rusty brown, yellow, blood-stained it says could be sign of infection.

Not quite been a week since ive had my cold but still got bunged up nose and cough etc..

I hoping a day of sweating/gardening will sort it out ; -)
