Is it starve a cold, feed a fever or feed a cold and starve a fever?

Or is that just an old wives tale?

Is it best to take medicines to help a cold/symptoms or take nothing and let it run its course?

Ive razor blades in my throat,and tissue bunged up my nose (pleasant site) lol, main concern is i dont want it going to my chest i need to be fit and well for two weeks time.

I think it's a wives' tale. My advice: don't think "it's just a cold" and go to work even if you really feel bad; take the day off if you need it as you'll get better quicker if you've had the rest. I take the drugs when that's not an option.

Helps if you threaten to sneeze on whoever (whomever?) is at home so they'll wait on you hand and foot, too. ;-)

at least im not the only one! if i have to suffer another episode of Diagnosis Murder i might just lose the plot altogether. Throat sweeties and any of the over the counter stuff for sinus pain have seen me through.

Mine today has got worst, think i will be having the day off work tommrrow and stayin in bed,lemsips dont seem to be working and no sooner have i blowed my nose its full again grrrrr

I'm on the mend now Pootle, had this blasted cold since sat night. I need to be well for next week, Prestwick to Skye in 3 days, so this couldnt have come at a worse time.

I'm going back to work tomorrow. Thankfully it didnt pass into my chest, just the nose/sinus'. i have a proper sore red raw nose now thanks to all the sandpaper sorry tissues ive gone through these past few days. I think it probably isn't a good idea, but I did it today.
I got my hair cut a couple of days ago and the b***dy hairdresser was streaming.
In Scotland for a week so I'm not going to stay in bed.
And the carrot cake at Laggan Wolf Trax is too good to miss.
