Hi, We now have details of our 2009 dirtgirls weeks. We will be running two weeks, a beginners week in June and a more experienced rider’s week in August. More details are on our site. All rides on the beginner’s week will be lead by Ulrika Tamanini. She’ll plan some great rides with amazing views and throw in lots of skills sessions along the way. She's a fantastic coach and knows the area really well. I'll tag along too with the excuse of taking photos and getting to ride every day! For the rider’s week we once again have Petra Wiltshire, the ex masters DH World Champ along as a coach! Jo Pauly, who guides for us regularly throughout the summer, will be with Petra leading those rides each day. Ulrika will also be along for the week, leading rides each day with me joining that group. You can message me or call if you want any more info. Sara

Sara I wanted a read of the review...on your blog but it doesnt appear to be working? Ruthie

hmm, it's working when I click. Try going from this link here http://www.findyourflow.org/blog/2007/02/07/dirtgirls-singletrack-article/ If that doesn't work email me on sara@flowmtb.com and I can send you a pdf of it. Also if you search the Shecycles articles for dirtgirls and dirt girls, you'll find loads of diary entry articles Bex wrote when she came out on a couple of the weeks. sara.x

 Hi Ruthie,
We worked out there were problems with some of the older posts on certain servers. All a bit techy for me so can't tell you what was up, but can say that Guy has now fixed it so you should be able to see the article, and I uploaded another that was in Health&Fitness and What Mountain Bike.
Sorry about that, and thanks for the warning!

Sara Great, Yeah I read the article... rain-downhill-fear not a great combination I had a similar experience in Verbier a few years ago. I would REALLY love to come on the week for more experienced riders BUT it would be nice if the SO could come along and if there was any provision for guys to to be guided for the week. You had any thoughts on that? Ruthie

Hi Ruthie, Unfortunatley the weather is something we can do little about! Just have to hope for a good week We do have another chalet so there's somewhere he could stay. That'll be the boy's safe haven away from the girls for the week! It's just round the corner from musardiere so close enough to meet up. We have been talking for ages about running a boys guided week that week as we often get boyfriends wanting to come along while the girls week is on, plus other guys coming out alone who want guiding. You've just given me the push I need to actually do something about that! I've got something online, under boys week: http://www.flowmtb.com/trips/boysweek . Get him to take a look and let me know what you reckon. Basically a week with accom, food, lift pass, transfers, and 4 days of guided riding. Sara

Sara Cool idea! great news... I really hate to be a fuss BUT I cant see my bloke wanting to come away for the week and then have to stay in another chalet... realistically. The girls and blokes will be spending all day together and there is nothing to stop the socialising to be mixed regardless of chalet in the evening etc so surely where we sleep doesnt really matter? Why only 4 days guiding for the blokes @ the same price? And presume the riders week is more due to the profesh? Ruth

Sorry Ruthie, one of the big things at dirtgirls is that the chalet is girls only. It's something that quite a few girls have said to us is one of the things that makes the holiday for them. Obviously you can socialise in the evening but we have consistently been told that the all-girl atmosphere in the chalet is of utmost importance. Last year we used a hotel, and while at meals we had our own tables, there were other guests in the hotel and I got a lot of feedback (especially from girls that had been to dirtgirls in morzine) that they preferred the chalet style experience when it is only girls in the accommodation. Having one guy at the meals would change that for all the girls - and I don't think be much fun for him!
The guy's week is four days of riding and is 100 euros cheaper - partly due to the 4 days guiding, and partly due to it being run from a slightly cheaper chalet. Not sure i understand what you mean by 'profesh' - sorry!

The one idea I can think of is if you stayed at the boys chalet, where I could give you both a double room, and it's just round the corner from the girls chalet. You could come to the girls chalet for breakfast and dinner, and then obviously rides would go from there. My main worry would be that you would miss out on a bit of the atmosphere by not being in the girls chalet all the time. However this may be a better option for you. I'll need to have a think about implications for the boys chalet too as we would need to make sure all blokes booking on the week are aware of that.
It's probably best to actually speak about this. You can reach me on 010 8123 5654 or email me a number to call you on.

Hi, I was just wondering how experienced a rider you need to be to go on the riders week? Also, do you need to be very fit to be able to cope? Thanks, Becky

 Hi Becky,
The idea of the week is that you're already happy riding most obstacles - roots, rocks, small rollable drops, but not necessarily an expert downhiller! What we are trying to do is make sure that anyone who really lacks off-road experience goes on the beginners week so we don't have complete novices along with people who are happy riding a trail centre red route. We split into two groups during the week so that helps to split a little on the lines of experience/ability.
If you want to give me a call to chat a bit more about it please do. I'll be on 020 8123 5654 from tomorrow evening (at the moment I'm away so you'll get Guy who isn't so useful for info on dirtgirls!)
