Pedal Crank Came Off

My pedal crank came off my Specialized Dolce Elite on the way home from work last night.

Luckily the boyfriend was able to come and get me and even managed to get the crank back on, but it happened again this morning.

It looks like there is s bit missing as the crank only goes halfway onto the bottom bracket... or rather there is not enough bottom bracket to go through the whole of the crank.

Has anyone else had this problem or knows what to do?

Does your bike come with the 2 piece Sugino Direct Drive crankset?  No experience of this one myself but I did unearth this page during a search - hope it helps.  Things were so much simpler back in the days of square taper (I never moved on ) before ISIS, Octalink and Hollowtech II.

Yes, it is a 2 piece Sugino Direct Drive crankset.

The link is great, this is exactly what happened to me, and the bike doesn't even have as many miles on it yet as the one in the link.   Sad to say but its been in the shed for a year, as i came off the MTB just after i bought the Road Bike and broke a shoulder.

Will print off the relevant bit and get the BF to help me fix it at the weekend.

Thanks loads
