I am very very impressed! Think that would be a bit far for me to commute!

Nice one Pootle, how long did that take?

I thought I was doing well on 12 miles with 1000+ feet of climbing each way

Very impressed, well done.  17 miles is my commute and that is just about far enough I reckon.

With it being the kids 6wks hols i've had to give up my commute to work , but was only saying yesterday i'm going to get my water proofs out and get ready to restart the 21 mile round trip in the rain. As it looks like if i wait for the sun to come out i'll never get out on either bikes.

I rode into work for the first time today

Was pretty slow and knackered (haven't managed to get out for any off-road rides for weeks if not months now) so am pretty pleased to have done it in 55 minutes (10.2 miles each way).

Definately planning to stick with it (company are signing up to Ride2Work scheme so will get myself more of a road bike) so hopefully dark days and rain/sleet/frost won't deter me....

I have an off road commute to work which is great, except I get tempted to go off exploring on the way, I've turned my 6 mile trip into 13 miles before, and I ended up having to chuck bike over spiked 6ft fence and then climb over myself

I was going to sell my Gary Fisher but decided to use as a commute bike for the winter mths.

Yesterday was loverly going to work the sun was just starting to say hello, i nearly  carried on as was to nice to be at work.lucky for me i finnished at 2pm so took a longer route back to the car.As doing the half way drive / bike is working out ok, so think it will work out through the winter mths..

I lurve these mornings of seeing the sun coming up as I ride in.  Know the feeling of not wanting to stop at work but to keep on going........

I also often finish earlish in the afternoon and depending on the day will take a slightly longer more interesting route than the A6 home, or on my late starts do a ride first then go into work.
