Anyone know anything about bone grafts?

Usually hurt more from the donor site then the place where the bone is actually used. Recovery fairly quick and usually taken from the pelvis.
Any other questions ?

Can they slim you down to a size 8? .  What is the implication for recovery/rehab of the hip, movement etc.  It is my collar bone that might need grafting and am still getting over the lack of joint movement from the first op to plate it, so looks like I wil be going back to square one.!

I have had two bone grafts, both legs, hurt like hell for a while but the bolts hold them well until they heal, the screws /metalwork can be a nuisance...just had the last of mine out..

Thanks for replies, from what I have heard from everyone it is the donor site that hurts like hell, maybe it is because we forget that the donor site has been operated on and only expect the receiving site to hurt.
