i only had astgmatism -1.50, and -1.25 cyl  summat like that, myopia was negligible. i did pay A LOT OF MONEY for the latest technology. i think it is more money for more severe prescriptions over (-6.00 maybe) as there is more risk and  higher customer disatisfaction - perhaps this extra money is for insurance against claims??? I had mine done through Optical express.
