I suffer with the same trouble - not very lady like! I also find I have to spit quite a lot when puffing up hills which is truly disgusting. I solve the nose problem by wearing a bandana round my neck which is very useful for wiping/blowing the nose when you don't want to use the back of your gloves.

I have become quite good at this and do it on the road and on the mtb. Best wait until you are at the back of a chain gang though!

The main thing is the pressure- the more the better. I'm sure those into physics could come up with a formula!

The down side is you have to remind yourself that it is not the done thing in a spinning class...

My dad used to do it out the car window! leanrt a lot re wind speed etc whilst sitting in the back seat...yuk

my nose turns into some sort of a condensation trap all year round, so after getting really fed up with carrying around a wad of tissues all the time and having to stop to blow, I got the hang of snot-rockets.

Main thing is to make sure that there's nobody right behind you or they may get it.....oh and if you've got a cold, then be prepared for a lot of snot and give it a bigger blow.....and everyone catches their arm sometimes.
