Lichen Sclerosis/Fibromyalgia

I have been diagnosed over the past 2 years with lichen sclerosis as well as fibromyalgia. My husband is an avid cyclist and every time I try to get in shape on my bicycle, these two conditions become huge and painful obstacles. I have raised my handle bars, change my saddle, experimented with variations of clothing, but still seem stuck and in too much pain to ride. Any suggestions?

See the knee pain thread and perhaps try Cyclefit in London they might just sort you out. Good luck though, I suffer back pain so you have my sympathy with debilitating pain, but you seem determined so you deserve to get yourself sorted and have fun on your bike. Take care. CJ

angle of the saddle? try tipping it right down

We've adjusted the saddle angle, too, which has helped some. I went for a ride yesterday and was in a great deal of pain before the 3rd mile (from the lichen sclerosis). I think we may need to do a bit more saddle adjustment until I find an angle that works better. Thanks for the ideas.

Have you tried a saddle with a cut out?

I have not tried a saddle with a cut out. I'll go to my cycle shop and test-drive one. Thanks for that idea! Peace.
