The Lee quarry trail can be found in Rossendale (Lancs.).

We decided to visit it with a friend who is local to the area and know it well.  Starting in Ramsbottom. We rode for quite a few miles to make it part of our ride.

There is a red route with a black section added on.

It's mainly straight forward easy type riding, but I'm not  good on technical stuff and walked a tiny secton on the red.

Just be aware that there were alot of undesirable people around today (probably due to the hot weather) who were really rude to us.  Also came across one woman walking her 2 dogs on a tricky downhill section.  It isn't like the normal trail centres.  There are no facilities and we found it hard to find.  Also the slog up to the start was off putting, mainly because today was warm.

There were quite a few riders by the time we left, many were kitted out in full downhill body armour, but that's up to them.

However there seems to be scope in the quarry itself to do your own trails, maybe adding on bits here and there.

It was fun and we ended up doing the red trail 3 times.

If you're local it's worth a visit.

Forgot to mention that we ran out of water, so a lovely young family living near to the trail let us fill up our camebaks with water from their garden hose.

It's nice to know that not all the locals are as above.

I'm hoping to have a look round here, but I get the idea its not a place to go on my own.  So you have the route you did from Ramsbottom as I can get there from my house.

I'll go with you sometime Trio, might not be as bad on a weekday, although school hols might mean it's not great anyday, be worth a look though.

Trio- I'll get NBT. to send it to you.

The guy we rode with did us a profile, we ended up doing 27 miles, some was on road though.

Don't go on your own.  The people we came across were really rude and bad mannered, the type to maybe have ago at taking your bike (maybe just for a laugh).  But most of the peeps riding were really friendly.

Also we found that some of the signs were missing, so feel yourself around.  There are maps on the gate though.  Have fun.

Cool, I don't mind the odd bit of road, but I'll take someone with me!

Hello Alice, how are you?

It must be a few weeks away from the birth date.

Look after yourself.  We must come and see you when the little one comes along.

Jane.

Wow, so not long till the first shecycles baby.

How old do they have to be before they can come out biking in a trailer?

I'd hoping 3, maybe 4 days.......
