I just leave my camelback (a small one) with the bike and then I can drink whilst on the bike. They aren't mamouth distances/times. The bike tends to be the longer stint.

Suzibear you can get a tri suit to put under your wetsuit. As for getting out of your wet suit apparently you put a non petrolium based lubricant around your neck & wrist prior to puttin gyour wetsuit on then when you're out of the water you obiviously undo the zip then left hand to right shoulder pull arm out & reverse then pull to your waist then pull down again to your knees then again until you reach the point where you can literally kick the legs off. The like Trio says attach shoes to pedals and go go go although it needs practice. All this is theory I've only observed at races.

Good luck

Right.  Definately need a training weekend!  I was thinking of getting a little camelbak anyway for shorter rides rather than lugging the huge one about all the time.

I've looked at my form few times now but not quite put pen to paper!  Did 8km run in the gym the other night but that was all on the flat   We could also meet on the Long Mynd one weekend too...??

I know there's an X-terra here in Greece in October.

Its on the island of Poros (Not hugely far from me.

http://www.x-poros.gr/ - in Greek.

There's a fun traithlon down the road from me too - which I am entering this year.  It will be my first. www.schiniathlon.gr

If you are interested in X-poros and want to know more, you can ask on the schiniathlon forum, its in English and they're all mighty helpful.

I survived my first triathlon - and actually quite enjoyed it! Swim was good, bike was rubbish and run was better than expected. I had a couple of little practise rides with a mate's road bike but what went wrong was my pacing - I didn't realise just how little effort you need to ride a road bike and went much too slow. I suppose that made the run easier but again I could have started a lot faster. I was expecting my legs to give up at some point but that didn't happen.

I tried to save a few seconds in transition and didn't put any socks on... bad mistake! I have never seen blisters like these...! Anyway - it was fun but might try off-road event next or at least learn to ride a road bike properly...!

Glad you had fun Anu!  Sounds like loads of little bits to improve on, so next time you will do a pb again!!!
