Hi All,

I was hoping someone could recommend a good sports bra, my current one is over 5years old and it really just doesn't fit anymore.

Ideally I'm after something with seperate cups because I find I feel squashed in the all in one type bras. I'm not large by any means (32C when last measured 6 months ago). I suffer quite a bit with back and shoulder pain, so if I could find something that would help that (or at least not make it any worse) that would be great.

Thanks

Michelle

PS - I've read the bra article which was very useful, but just wondering if any of you out there have any you swear by.

The maximum strength (4) of the Shock Absorber range. They have have seperate cups and are very sturdy!  Sold in Debenhams (and probably other places!). Not cheap (around £30) but perform well.

Get a coloured or black one, the white ones discolour very quickly, even when handwashed.

I'd second Alice on the shock absorber range - I'm a C and use them for running, and they're great. I don't know where you're based Michelle, but theres a Bra shop at Cheshire Oaks that sells shock absorbers cheaper, also you can pick up new ones on Ebay sometimes... Running shops/proper sports shops also sell them.

Thanks very much for the advice - so Shock Absorber it is....

I'm based out in Reading, but I'll be in London thsi weekend, so I must be able to find some there.

Thanks again....

You can sometimes get them cheap in TKMaxx as well.

I have seen them in the TKMaxx in Reading before actually...

That's fantastic news - always happy to save a few pennies if I can

If there's nothing in TKMaxx at the mo... I know there's a Sweat Shop running store near reading railway station somewhere and I suspect they'll stock them.

went to my local TKMaxx today and picked up two Shock Absorbers... Am fairly flat chested so I only needed a level 3 bra for running... found two in my size but they were only in pink but it's not like anyone is going to see them so the colour can remain my dirty little secret... I bounced and jiggled in the changing room and the change in bounce from my Primark sports bras to these is amazing. Will be giving them a proper test run tonight.

oh and they were €11 compared to the €30+ in Debenhams.

There's a review of sports bras in the sept edition of cycling plus for anyone still interested.

I have a really old shock absorber and went to buy a new one but had no clue what "model" the old one was. I've bought 2 and both are uncomfortable and dig/rub under my right arm (have been measured to ensure I got the correct size).

Anyway I've just bought 2 from Sweaty Betty online which are £25 each and they are fantastic, they are that good you could (if you wanted ot, I wouldn't stomach not wash board flat enough) wear them as crop tops. Bewarned though the "hot pink" one is actually fluorescent pink when it comes through ... oh well guess it's a bit different to black!
