i have a havok giro in small.

Iprefer the look of giro but it depends on your head shape i think. I don't think unless size wise it mattes if male or female does it?

Just make sure you can adjust it one handed. ( also remember unlike me! that you can adjust giro helmets to sit lower down oin your head, you don't have to look like a mushroom )

The Xen is nice but quite £££ (£80ish)

The Hex ( Julie grrr has this one i think ) is a great buy, you can get it for £50 i think. Try that one on?

Try first. Don't buy on line before you've tried it.

I have a hex and I love it.

They are dead cheap on ebay at the moment.

I tried on Julie grrrrrrs Giro hex and loved it.

It's the best helmet I've ever worn.

I'm selling my specialized ladies helmet. It's a silver/grey colour and would suit a small/medium head. It's hardly been worn.

Ideal for someone new in the sport.  For £10.00.  ( was £25.00).

Hex is the winner.  Had a Spesh Chamonix before, but the adjuster on the back was tricky to tighten and loosen when on.  Also it never felt like it was on my head properly, so I always had it too tight - nasty red marks on your forehead when you take the helmet off.

Hex has the standard Giro adjuster, works really well, very simple, the peak is removeable and also moveable so you can have it up high for minimal visor or low to protect your eyes more.  Shop around, I got mine for £40!!

Opps cardinal sin.... I've just ordered a helmet off Wiggle, because I liked the colour!

The helmet was delivered and all seemed fine.  Most of the helmets these days have that really easy adjuster at the back which allows the helmet to fit really snugly once all the straps are sorted out aswell.

But sadly had to send it back because the peak was twisted and looked like I had already fallen off in it!  Hopefully replacement should be fine.  But it seems to me once you know if you are a small/med or large, the helmets all seem to be pretty standard.  (but I could be wrong, havent tried that many makes).  And then its just a question of syle/colour etc.  The one I've just got is a Met Dedalo? (but the makes didnt mean much to me, more a colour and price choice!)

Also most brands offer free replacement if your helmet gets crash damaged within a certain number of years of purchase, I think mine said 3 which is quite a while.  Always worth remembering before shelling out for new one, because I know I forget how long I've had stuff once I throw out the receipt.
