As it says really - stag weekend is taking all my mates away and I still want to go and play. Which sounds like I have lots of mates and go there all the time when in fact i have only been twice before and one of those was on my XC bike Am looking to practice drops getting used to flat pedals again, some little jumps, few runs down the dh tracks (mostly the easier ones), push to the top with social chat in between, preferably on sunday but could do saturday instead... anyone wanna have a go?

Can't make this weekend but if you are doing the same thing again sometime in the future, would be up for it. Not done much downhill stuff and never been to Aston Hill (don't even know where it is really!) but have a DH bike which is gathering dust and could do with an outing.

Hi girls, sounds up my street as I too am getting into DH/DJ/FR stuff - though not yet acquired the right bike for it I've just cleared my very first tiny double so am really keen to build up on that and have heard about Aston so would love to go there - as a novice! It's a bit far for me (from Derby) but I'll keep an eye out on that thread (I'm at Afan this w'end). Great change from all the XC-talk on that forum

Brozza - did you go to Aston Hill? I haven't been since it closed for a while wondered what state the trails were in? Let me know if you go again - I don;t have a downhill bike but would like to try the downhill routes - only did the XC last time. I couldn't go at the w/end as we took the kids camping.

nope had a very quiet weekend at home, hoping to get there this coming sunday though if anyone can be persuaded... I was there about a month ago and the trails were perfect as far as I could tell, dry and dusty, but a bit greasy down the bottom on the odd chalky section. I gather thats normal though
