Did anyone get the wind and rain that was expected?

It was a little bit windy and rainy this am, but nothing what they said.

got it here in the west of ireland last night... but of course i slept through it. went out cycling yesterday morning afternoon in the most beautiful spring weather i have seen

nothing much in Sheffield but i think its only coastal areas most badly hit anyway.

im just hoping that by the time its the weekend the wind dies down - i hate riding in strong wind more than any other weather condition.

Bit blustery here on the south coast...! The fence between us and our odd neighbours is in about 45 degree angle and I wouldn't be surprised if was completely gone by the evening. Luckily the fence is their responsibility and it's going over into their garden so we don't have to worry. People opposite have their fence blown across their neighbour's front garden.

We got some scaffolding up for a painter doing the outside of the house - it was making such a racket last night I had to sleep with earplugs! I was slightly concerned the whole thing might end up in our neighbour's conservatory but it's still up!

Not very impressive in Brum though the neighbour's car alarm kept us awake most of the night due to the wind!  Beautiful day yesterday though - pity was inside...

Not much in the North West. Certainly not the sleet they predicted. A bit of heavy rain not much wind.

Not much in St Annes, right on the west coast,  annoyed as I should have brought my running kit in but didn't because I was expecting armageddon and I normally run along the seafront...

It took me an extra 10 munites to ride into work this morning as it was a head wind all the way.

Did I mention the horizontal rain too?  Not a very nice commute but at least the roads were fairly quiet for a Monday.

North West is okay, just rain.  In fact I was out riding with carolyn earlier!

.. and i met them for lunch, just to prove I do really exist not only in cyberspace.

Beautiful couple of hours before the rain, but gale force winds???? we had worse a couple of weeks ago and no one made a song and a dance about it.

Hmmm more gales predicted today but this time further north, do we have reporters running around trying to find bad weather to report on Breakfast, of course not tis just normal here evidently.....

..and as for the Dad pictured on a national paper watching big waves with baby in buggy, well just come and visit Blackpool, you see scenes like that most weeks!!!!!!

MMMmmmm today is definately the windest day we have had all week, should make motorway driving interesting..

Well you take care out there, and everyone else out there...

Had planned to walk down to Middlebrook today (local shopping centre for those not in the know) but not so sure at present, wind is one thing, but wind and rain is not fun.

Im getting quite good at avoiding lorries that get side winded out at u,

Lets hope todays motorway journey isnt as manic as yersterday, bad accident, with a car lorry and motorcyclist who got air ambulanced off

Everyone be careful out there,

Sharon drive there...

Pootle can't, not allowed to drive at moment with damaged shoulder until I feel I am safely in charge of the car, did try a gentle bit of driving on flat straight roads on the Lancs Fylde, but soon realised how much strength even power steering requires and how much effort I needed to put in, soon swapped back to the chauffeur...

Sorry to hear that sharon, hope u are on the mend soon.

Show/hide user stats

It quite windy here as well.  But the rain has stopped

Show/hide user stats
Well I managed to walk down to Middlebrook without getting blown away and the rain held off (that was more of a concern did not think they would appreciate me soaking wet in M&S for lunch.  Did not find any trousers in Next that fitted/were cut right so instead of saving pennies bought a shirt and some jewellery, well a gal needs some retail therapy.....
