This should really be two separate threads but I'm lazy and can't be bothered to write it as two! 1. Is Singletrack World down? I've been trying to get on it all day without luck. Foxy Boy suggested looking at the classifieds and I haven't been able to get on. 2. How do people secure their bikes to the car? We have a Saris bike rack (a model down from the Bones). I hate leaving the bikes attatched to the car as it would be really easy to just unhook the bike rack from the boot and walk away with the lot. (I wonder how many replies I'll get tonight with the footie on!)

What is this football of which you speak? I've been out riding. Yes, STW is down. Server crash, they're hoping to have it back in the next few hours apparently. It'd be interesting to see how many extra hours work has been done by people who'd normally spend half the day on there! Can't answer question 2 as I have an estate car - bikes inside.

We put a cable through the tow point on the chassis of the car, wrap it through the bikes and then lock it the bikes onto it.

I did the same as fi when I had a rear rack, now they on the roof I just lock them together

Thank you! Thats what we were thinking of doing, but weren't sure how secure it was. There are people in the world not watching footie!

Oh no how did some people cope with STW being broke. I take my bike apart and put it in the car, not helpful sorry.....

I had a Saris Bones with my last car (MGTF). As I always seemed to have loads of spare tie length I would just wrap it around the bike in various intricate patterns in the hope that no one would ever be arsed to try and unravel it! (no one tried to my knowledge) Changed car now though and it goes inside so the rack is a bit redundant
