Beginner - looking for cycling buddy

I took up cycling at the beginning of this year, so I am an absolute beginner.  I have a "town and country" bike and some of the basic equipment.  I have done some very basic rides but would like to learn and get out a bit more.  One of the main reasons for cycling (apart from the fact that I enjoy) is to lose weight as I am overweight.

I have recently moved to the crawley area and do not know anyone who shares my enthusiasm for cycling.  So I am looking for a cycling buddy, anyone near the crawley area would be appreciated or even if someone can point me in the direction of a beginners cycling club within the area.

I know it is a long way to come, but if you are ever up in the Bracknell / Crowthorne area, let me know. I am always up for a ride

Good luck finding a club!

Hi Becky

That would be great and will keep you in mind.  Have started cycling specific routes first thing in the morning and that seems to be working quite nicely but will keep persevering to find a cycling buddy, as they are good for motivation and support.

Hi Kelly, I forgot to say in my last post, my parents live near Horsham, so if you do find any cool places round there to ride, let me know, I'd be interested in coming down for a pootle around!!

Have you managed to find anyone to cycle with yet?
