I've got plenty of years to make up the 160 but sorry I'd rather watch a radiator go cold than stay up and pedal all night !!

Sorry for my ignorance, but what does it involve?
flossie, in a team of four, you take it in turns to do laps usually about 8 miles in length - you get as many laps into the 24 hours as you can. dont have to pedal all night - i'm anticipating having about a six hour rest in middle. Mind you, after battling through the mudfest at mayhem i may never do a 24 hour again!!!!! (not really!

Hello, I'm new to the website and am very interested in joining a veterans team - you never know we might be able to show the young wipersnappers a thing or two! Do you have a link to a website?

My word, this sounds very exciting. I've just had the all clear from my GP to get back on my bike again since recouperating from a recent operation, so I should be fit for August.

I live in a small village not far from Newbury, near Reading. How long does it take for the profile picture to take effect, it seems to have taken an eternity.

 Im between wrexham and Llandegla,

I'm in Shrewsbury. Bit unfit at the moment, but could do with challenge of some sorts for next year.

Tree Hugger, Just noticed you are wanting people around 40, is that to ensure physical fitness? Do you accept older women or would you require a medical? That's assuming you are in good physical health yourself, how did you fair at Mountain Mayhem, did you ride in a vets team? Where did your team come?

Age over 40 is fine its just that we need to make sure we get enough years between us so more is better. If there are 3 of us in mid 40's or above, then we can take someone who is a bit younger as well - as long as we have over 160 years btween us. i ride 2 / 3 times a week in Peak District at the moment -l SITS is reasonably physically demanding as you get as many laps in as you can in 24 hours so I guess you've got to have a bit of fitness and stamina but mainly lots of enthusiasm.
Good I'm glad you're intending to be competative, was your team at Mountian Mayhem a vets team too? How many laps did you complete and where did you come?
erm... just to point out it's only 6 weeks till SITS
Is this sill on, will be away in Austria for 2 weeks from tonight,
hi guys - sorry this didn;t quite work out as expected. i wont be able to do SITS now owing to some home committments. thanks for your interest - maybe next year!
Treehugger, that's a great shame, I'm bitterly disappointed. At least you got to compete in an event this year. Although I wonder whether Mountain Mayhem has put you off as you didn't respond to any of my questions regarding your experience of the race: Good I'm glad you're intending to be competitive, was your team at Mountain Mayhem a vets team too? How many laps did you complete and where did you come?
That made it difficult for me to gauge how a "veteran" might enjoy the event.
