My partner is abroad and won't get bac in time, I've been ill for the last 10 days and racing would probably finish me off. Shame as I was looking forward to it.  If i was better I'd have gone for it solo!

I guess i'll wake up tomorro and see how I feel - don't want to waste the £40 really! Good luck tomorrow.

I doubt it but I may see u there if I think I can even ride for half the time.

Well it wouldm't have done you any good if you was feeling poorly, did you ride? it was really really hard work-really sticky mud to drag yourself through with long grassy climbs...there was a few fun bits though. Am just glad i finished...

Well done Sinead. Nice one for going solo.

Sounds like it was no mean feat this time - so even more praise sent your way if it was clogged up!

I felt the need for a week or so more to get back on track for races - You prob know what I mean! I went to Llandegla instead for a random ride & felt greatly relieved at getting back on bike. I've been like a savage cow this week for not riding!

Just looking forward to Bristol 12 hour now. (Pairs this time: not up for a team again I don't think)

Where are u based?

I'm near Bridgnorth in Shropshire. I try to launch off into Wales etc, doing the 'Bucks off road classic' but just with a mate from Bristol as a social day out. I hope to do twentyfour12 (pairs prob) & a couple of others. The only Merida i'm doing is the Ruthin 75k next month.

Are u entered in anything else? Do u usually go solo?

Just wondering - I don't meet/speak to many 'fitter riders' as there aren't any in Bridgnorth!

Not on forum much so i only noticed your reply in my email inbox just now. Maybe drop me an e-mail if you're around sometime! emmacound@hotmail.co.uk

I'd be up for a pairs event should you ever need a partner or even a random ride in Wales!

Thanks, I am not really that fit though, just stubborn, it was a very painful experience only 7 weeks after knee surgery. I could have done an extra lap, but chose to do a slow bicycle race for the alst lap!

I am pretty much booked up for the year race-wise now, team of 4 for mayhem, 24-12 solo, D2D solo, army enduro-solo, gorrick this weekend-solo..and maybe SITS if team is sorted..i don't think i want to do anymore than that to be honest. it's about finishing for me, not winning... which is a good job looking at the results from the weekend!! http://www.provelosupport.com/docs/2008-enduro6-results.html

Next time i think i will enter in the pro/elite category,(jokin of course) i would of come 3rd...and the ladies that were on the podium in my"fun" category should do the same, as they would have have made the podium in the elite...and they are clearly not "fun" riders!!!

my email is hempty222@yahoo.com

Regards

Sinead

You'd have done ok to enter elite!!! I think you're right - they were not 'fun' cat riders in your group. I'm the same, I like to finish the job and prob not much chance of winning! We came 10th last yr in mixed pairs - but that was only my second race and I'd not been riding for long - result probably no thanks to me!!!!

Thanks for your e-mail - I hope you don't mind if I contact you occasionally, perhaps if i'm going on a ride you might be interested in?

Hey it's good to network!

You're prob fitter than u think - despite the knee op. Glad to be back on bike? I bet!

Nice chatting,

EMMA

Hi, yeah glad to be back on bike, i didn't enjoy everyone taking the *iss at enduro 6 because i was the last one to start though...i can't run on the knee at all since having the graft and walked it...much to everyones amusement

Who cares what they say, I'd like to see them try and do what you did only 7 weeks after surgery!

How did you find the course on a 29er?  I was wondering if it might be a little twisty?

Show/hide user stats

Thanks, it was tough.. it was fine on the 29er apart fom soem really tight sections about 5miles into the course, some ferny woodland, but everyone else was struggling there too with the slippy roots and boggy bits so all in all it was fine, i rode SITS on a 29er last year...

That's cool, I've not done any really twisty stuff on my 29er yet
