Endura Coolmax short liners?

I wonder if anyone had tried these?

My husband has the mens ones and he thinks they are fine. I've had loads of the more expensive Endura shorts never a problem.

I bought a pair of the coolmax short liners and they were dreadful, really uncomfortable they rode up the pad was too wide. They were in a box that said 'womens medium' they just said 'medium' on the label. We compared them to my husbands and they were absolutely identical in everyway. When you look (looked on Wiggle) at the mens and womens sizings for these as you expect they are different. So I decided to contact Endura as I didn't have the receipt and they said send them back, so I did. After some prompting they replied and said  'I have spoken to our development team who have advised that they have taken on board your comments regarding the women’s coolmax boxer short, and have advised that they have amended the manufacturing of the item'.

Now I thought and I still do think that they were a pair of mens shorts in the wrong box. They have offered a replacement when they come in stock. But I'm not niave enough to think that they will change the design of a pair of shorts after one persons comments !!!

Any thoughts ?

To me it sounds like they were the wrong shorts in the box, but then they could have just sent you the correct shorts.  It seems odd, I don't think you are important enough for them to change the design just for you, imagine how well shorts would fit if that was the case?

TBH am a lycra shorts girl myself.  But having said that I am a big fan of Endura's Coolmax shorts and have absolutely no problem with them, and think they are good value for money.  I would have thought on that basis, if they can get the shorts right for women then they get the undershorts right, and presumably as already said they are just wrong shorts/wrong box.

So the question is why not just say that ? Very odd I thought had they said that I wouldn't have posted on here but I thought it was an unsatisfactory answer.

Was it just some standard letter they send out to everyone who sends back a product with a complaint?

No it wasn't, it was an e-mail sent specifically to myself also answering my query as to why they hadn't got back to me. I did think the reply was bull#### that they thought sounded good !!

Just been to my local bike shop and they had the offending shorts in stock. I pulled a pair out of the box and they still look identical to the mens.

Whats that about trade descriptions eh???

Sounds a bit odd to me, you'd think they'd look more different - liners in women's shorts are usually a dif shape/size. Best liners I've found are some Sugoi ones, they're only £18 yet much comfier than my more expensive ones. I got mine at Minx. I'd say if Endura aren't being helpful and these shorts don't work for you then look elsewhere and give the replacement ones to your husband!

You know I thought I'd resurrect this one.

Not impressed with the service at all I STILL haven't had a replacement I sent them back in August. You'd think a manufacturer could get their hands on a pair of medium womens in four months!!

I got a pair for xmas and they are ......OK.  I have a pair of Gore Windstopper long tights that don't come with a pad (why not FGS!!) so I was bought these.  They're not the best fit, I reckon unisex although it does say womens on the box (note to self, check label when get home) but they do have a full pad, which I agree is quite bulky, but worked when on the trail although the legs are tight and the lower back is too low so they feel like they're falling down all the time or is cos I have too big a bum to fit them

Well an update. I eventually got a my original pair of shorts sent back to me with a new pair that were IDENTICAL so I donated them to the garage dweller who was very impressed with his two new pairs of shorts.

Not impressed I wasn't after any freebies. I've just ordered two paris of womens Pearl Izumi liners from Minx instead. It actually looks like the Endura ones are now discontinued.
