Anyone have any bar ends that they can recommend? Started getting sore wrists from riding position, thought bar ends might help. Have seen the ergon ones on minx but never heard of them before. Any ideas???

Lucy - I have got the ergon grips (without bar ends), have been using them for nearly a year now and they make a huge difference in reducing sore hands as they spread the surface area across your whole palm - I'm not sure if they would help your wrists or not though.

If you can wait, the suppliers were at SSMM last year and at the London Bike Show (where they recognised me!) The ergon guys are incredibly helpful and I would suggest that you talk your sore wrists through with them.

Have you tried spacers, riser bars, twisting the bars etc? You may find that by making your reach shorter you elivate the strain on your wrists.

Hi Lucy, a second vote for the ergon grips (without the bar ends in my case too). Had them a few weeks now and I find them really comfy and they stop my riding with 'dropped' wrists. They also seem to reduce vibration more than my previous grips did. They might be worth a shot.

I agree with talking to someone about your wrist pain. I get hand pain and I'm chatting to my doc about it.

Hope you get a resolution.

Third vote for the ergon grips.

I have had mine for a year now and they are brilliant. They support all of your hand and fit its natural contours thereby eliminating any high pressure areas. The paddle shape of the grip keeps your wrist in neutral too which prevents ligaments and muscles and nerves from being put under stress when you ride. I use them as a preventative measure - being a physio I cant afford to get sore hands- but i would certainly recommend these grips to one of my clients suffering from wrist or hand pain.
Its always a good idea to get yourself checked out by a qualified proffessional when changing kit for medical reasons. They arer able to examine you and recommend specific kit so saving you money on expensive mistakes.

Thanks everyone. Have played around a bit with my bars and used to have some bar ends on my old Trek bike didn't think to take them off when I passed it on to someone else. Looks like I'll be doing some more damage to the credit card for some egon grips. Just have to wait to get my bike back from the bike shop.
Thanks again!

I have some Cane Creek bar ends. Cool little rubbery things, smaller than most bar ends. They go a bit below the handle bar as well as above and are dead grippy.

Have had problems with neck/back/shoulders and these have realy helped.
