Hello and welcome! Age is just a number. Whereabouts are you? There might be some members local to you.

Young at heart, that's my excuse

Ange, you're definitely not past it!! I think I may be just a teensy-weensy bit older than you, and a teensy-weensy bit overweight - but who cares?? I love getting out on my bike - and people usually wait for me at the top of the hills! And where are you?

Hi Ange Doesn't matter what sort of bike you have or how fit you are - just get out there and have some fun. It seems that people who enjoy biking are by nature, very helpful and encouraging - at least that's how I've found it. So, let us know where you are and join in some local rides, before you know it you will be completely addicted to biking and have made lots of new friends. Look forward to meeting you.

Welcome ange, age is just a number as trio said. There are a few of us in the Chorley, Horwich, Bolton area and when allowed to I work at Preston. There are loads of places to get to if cycling north of Preston, do you work? Pretty well any day of the week you can find cyclists in the Priory at Scorton, but tuesday and thursday mornings are best (11's) also anytime on Sunday. Nearer to home is Billington's just beyond Bartle Grange, follow their craft centre signs. A group of cyclists meet up there on Thursday lunch times, some belong to Preston CTC and are worth getting in touch with, they are not young or fast. Plenty of options there for cycling on the flatter quiet lanes of the Fylde.

Thats great to know there are a few of you around here, yes I work have my own business, I've started cycling to work, I have Sunday and Wednesday's free, my husband likes walking so we have agreed to alternate Sunday walking and cycling. Wednesday I'm getting up to the gym, been looking at the site Ribble valley cyclist they have a meet on a Monday will see what that is about. But it would be great to maybe meet up do any of you do the Manchester to Blackpool wouldn't mind doing that.

Hi Ange, am second claim for Ribble Valley, they are a great bunch and have quite a large group of lady riders, they have a couple of rides that go out on a Sunday and a mid-week thursday ride. They are currently planning some once a month beginner rides. The Monday club room is in the Catholic club at Bamber Bridge, just off Station Road at the traffic lights near the Top Lock, they meet from approx 8pm onwards, they have some refreshments on and sometimes a speaker. From next week the evening club time trial season starts and lots of local cyclists can be found on the A6 they use the car park at the back of the Black Bull/Church just north of Broughton, fro approx 6pm onwards, racing usually starts around 7pm (might be 6.45 first couple of weeks cos of light).

Thank you, me & my other half are going out on Sunday, he likes going on walks so we have compromised on alternating walks and bike riding. I have been biking to work this week so I'm getting fitter now.
