Yep they still have the rear zip pocket.

I actually wear them over my shorts and wear shorts all year round even when wearing longs in order to keep my thighs warm, I confess I had not thought of wearing 3/4's under longs.

My longs don't have a chamois, so I always wear my shorts or 3/4 lengths under them.  This morning I was in 3/4 but my legs were a little cold.

I recommend the Corinne Dennis stuff clicky.

The LCLS shorts go up to size 20 and quite simply are the most comfortable I have even worn, they're cotton-feeling but still stretch where they need to. Edinburgh Cycle Co-op stock them near me; don't know where else stocks them, sorry, but the site does mail-order. The sizes are real as well; no "size large is a size 10" stuff.

I love this topic!

I'm a size 16 (14 on a good day) with a 35" legs and a 44" bust and I can never find stuff that fits me well!

I have a great pair of Altura shorts in a 16 which are a little on the big side but very comfy and Sombrio shorts in an L which are on the tight side. I also bought some Harlot shorts from www.minx-girl.com (or is it co.uk) which are a little tight but ok and Minx is very helpful if you contact her!

The only 'riding' top I have is a Sombrio long sleeved jersey which is a good fit in L but a little stretched across the bust. I'm looking for a waterproof slim-fit riding coat at the moment but am struggling to find anything that fits, moves well and flatters too! (My current one is a mans Race Face which makes me look huge and I know it's not all about looks but that has to account for something, right?)

SJ- I have the other problem with leg length- I am about 28-29" inside leg, which means ALL longs are too long and can't be shortened as they always have zips, velcro etc.

Can't think of anywhere that would do a jacket, sorry!

SJ, if you forget 'bike specific' for the moment, try Montane who make mountain / running clothing.

I have one of their Featherlite Marathon  jackets and the cut is superb, really bust- and hip-shaped and it isn't at all tight across the front on me. I usually have to get a size 16 to fit round my 36DD boobs but the hour-glass effect is so great that I can fit into a size 14 in this.

Jacket here.

Although it is billed as shower-proof rather than waterproof, I have found it to be completely rain-proof but it will need to be washed in plain water and soap flakes or Nikwax Tech Wash to avoid washing-out the waterproofing - same as any waterproof/Gore-Tex-alike really.

Winwood Outdoor do great discounts on Montane stuff. I also have a fully waterproof 200 jacket (cos it only weighs 200 grams) but not sure if they still do that model but places like Winwood are good for old stock as well as new ranges.

This year they have a new female designer - the old designer, Julie, cut the stuff to suit her figure, which suited mine, too - and next year's new designs are reputed to be more boxy and less curvy.

Hope this helps.

JoeyEmma I had the same problem with longs till I discovered nike longs, they fit my short legs perfectly!

trio25 you are lucky my Nike longs are quite long on me, the only longs I've got that fit are from Aldi of all places.

Actually, just come back from Decathlon and have tried on their longs. Although they are a bit too long for me, they are still wearable. I am wearing a 14 at the moment and the large fit quite well, even over my thunder thighs and rugby players calves.

I didn't get them in the end as I am meant to be saving money and haven't actually gone out on a proper bike ride for 3 weeks due to a bad back.

I used to work at Decathlon so have a massive selection of their clothing, love it.

Have been disappointed with the sizing of the Gore / Specialized stuff that only goes up to an XL - I'm a size 16 and only just fit into their trousers but the bulges are not pretty. I wear some Decathlon XL undershorts and some men's 3/4 Raceface shorts in an XL and love that combo - get the padding from the lycra and nobody sees my thighs under the baggies.

Saying that though this weekend I wore lycra full trousers for the first time on Sunday. Used the Decathlon XL padded lycra shorts with a set of their XL men's running lycra leggings over the top - all for less than £20 - bargin!
