Help please! I have long, long legs--inside leg is 33"--and am having trouble finding warm cycling tights to fit. I'm ok in the warmer months as shorter (within reason!) styles do nicely, but now I'm getting cold. If you know of any brands that come longer than 31" then please let me know. Many thanks.

Whilst you are advising Kate, could you also advise me about the best long winter tights in general. Womens specific.

As you say Kate it is getting colder and I haven't found any decent fitting tights yet.

I'm after some winter tights as well, although I'm not tall I just don't know what is best and my local shop stocks no women's speific gear.

If you're budget can stretch it try Assos. Their sizing is based on lengh - I have a M and my inside leg is 31ish.

Failing that I purchased a pair of mens Endura bib tights last year and they have been really good (about £45-£50) - I have size small and there's plenty of lengh in the leg and are not baggy anywhere.

If you want non-bib tights try the sugoi midzero ricaro2 tights - I bought a pair last year, pretty warm (although not as warm as the assos) but they are padded so you don't have to wear shorts underneath. My only comment on leg length - they are a bit long for me and I have a 29" leg length.

As BS says - the ladies assos uma windproof bib-tights are great - especially for really cold days on the road bike (once you have worked out how to put them on!)- teamed up with the windproof uma jacket......just right for D2D ;-| But they aren't cheap - IIRC about 150quid.

try minx-girl or girlsruntoo websites.

Also Endura Thermolite (fleece lined)tights seem to be very long. I take a medium in bike kit and I have to roll/fold the bottoms of these tights up else I look like Nora Batty - I'm about 30" Inside leg. They have double panels on the knees, although if your me you have toasty warm shins instead! They are very warm and prety robust, I've fallen on them loads of times and not managed to hole them yet (quickly finds some wood to touch).

I may be looking at some Sugoi ones for this year as my backside loves the Ricaro2 liner, its fantastic. I have seen some Sugoi 3/4 lengths on a long legged friend of mine and they seemed to fit her perfectly which means they'll likely be too long for me.

Many thanks for all the help girls. Much appreciated. Kate

Yes thanks guys. I have just ordered a pair of Sugoi 3/4 length tights. Fingers crossed they will fit ok.

I have 31 legs and i ride with the gore amazone bibs. They are very comfy and warm and stretchy. They seem plenty long enough for me!

I can second the mens Endura bib tights!

Hi Ladies

Couple of you mention the ASSOS bib tights. I really fancy a pair as I commute daily to work and like to continue throughout winter I want a really warm pair of bib tights. However not sure about size.
I am 5ft 3in size 10 but also have long legs. I am a 31 in inside leg. I tried on the medium size as they are supposed to fit on height but found I could not get them on. Is there some special technique or should I go for a larger size.

There is a technique to the Assos tights!

You need to roll down the bibs and climb in - don't buy them if you're in a hurry in the mornings, you have to take your time adjusting!

BTW I took out the chamois from mine this weekend as I just couldn't get on with it. They are loads better now I can wear a pair of my own shorts underneath.

The ladies assos clothing does come up small I find. When I bought my uma jacket I thought, only being a 34A, a medium would fit but I found it way too tight across the chest. I opted for the large so I can actually wear a thermal underneath it.
The tights - I tend to pull them up bit by bit - once they are on they don't move.

In the end I went for Sugoi mid zero tights and they are great length wise. May need to upgrade to something a tad warmer as the temp keeps dropping.

I find the ground effect clothing (from a NZ site) better fitting than most brands in the UK. I'm about a 10-12, with 32" legs and their size medium fits me great. Another good thing about their kit is it's not too tight around the waist and (for shorts) the thighs. The last pair of shorts I bought from a shop in the UK was XXXL and even that was too tight if I'd just eaten (very depressing!).

I was comtemplating a pair of Gore Amazone bib tights - padded. I am only 5ft4 with 29 inch leg. I guess they will be too long.
Has anyone tried any Biemme ladies tights. I bought some men's Bemme tights in decathlon's sale last year and took the chamois out. They were a size medium, but have shrunk - I forgot and put them in the tumble dryer.

I've recently bought a pair of Sugoi Mid Zero Tights, and after a couple of outings, I'm a bit disappointed with them. They fit fine when I'm standing up, but when I'm on the bike, they aren't so good. They aren't cut higher at the back like most cycle specific tights, so let a bit of a draft in. I'm going to treat myself to some Corinne Dennis tights - I've had a pair for years and they are still going strong - cut high at the back, long in the leg and really comfy.
