Mrs NBT - just to let you know that I have not been feeling well all week. If I am still feeling crap tomorrow then I won't come out biking. Fingers crossed I will be better as I am itching to get out on my new bike!

I'd love to join you for a ride in the Peaks although I won't be able to meet up on your next ride as i'll be down in the New Forest (see Winter Celebration ride).

I'll keep my eyes peeled here for your next trip if you don't mind me tagging along.

i'm sure that will be great!
Hi all

Ros, have you got a new bike since I last saw you. What is it? And are you wearing the real hardcore body armour stuff?

Re night ride. New Mills will be fine, ladies - and as I'm off work can make it up at any time. Really looking forward to it - if a bit scary! You can email your address and directions. Hope you're feeling better soon, Ros. Is it a cold?
See you two Thurs 23rd all being well.

Bikescooby - see my posting on page 7 re Ladies Peak ride this weekend starting from Hathersage, otherwise see you soon. Don't forget stint round Sherwood Pines sometime.

Treehugger - I did see but i've got a road ride planned so i'll have to take a rain check, sorry. I haven't forgotten about Sherwood either. I might do a bit of a recce first to make sure I can remember where the trails are!!

Treehugger - yep got a new bike. It is a Giant XTC Comp - a single speed bike. Basically I decided that I needed something that would withstand the Peak winter and all the grime and grit that trashes bikes so easily. Being a single speed I thought it would be easier to maintain through the winter, although whether I will be able to ride up hills on it will be another matter! We shall see!

We bought body armour after our trip to Spain - we had to wear it there. We used it for the first time this weekend and it certainly saved my knees and elbows a couple of times!

Bikescooby - if you can't make our next ride on the 25th Nov how about the one that we have planned in the North Peaks on 7th Jan? I think we are starting from Holmfirth. Ambrose's sister is organising it.

Oh No Ros.
It's really the pits when you have lurgy and theres a new bike waiting in the wings.
Maybe when you got cold and wet at Ae it lowered your resistance to those germs!

Looking forward to 25th girls. ( If I don't see you tomorrow Ros) But we'll get together next week for our night ride.
My elbow armour certainly saved me when I had my tumble back in the summer, still have a scar though. Chicks dig scars on guys , but not the other way round, unfortunately.

Thanks Ros, but it's just a little bit too far for me for a day ride (i'm Leicestershire based).

bikescooby you can stay at mine if you want to do a weekend in peak sometime. I've got empty nest syndrome anyway - two empty bedrooms!

Aye, still on for 7th Jan starting from Holmfirth-ish. Sorry have been a bit quiet of late, have barely been home for 5 weeks! Will post a route for ride soon. Am also toying with idea of new mtb!

Treehugger-NBT has reminded me that you will need a bottle cage, for the battery, when you borrow our spare lights.

Ros- you've started a trend here, we are all getting new bikes, treehugger you already have yours. Yippee.

Ambrose's sister- what are you thinking of getting?
Show/hide user stats
ok no prob - took one off my old bike so it should be hanging around somewhere. best have a look.

hi Mrs NBT, Ros. Is it alright if Darren aka GOldfish joins us next Sat - as he's got no one to go out with. aaah Is NBT coming did you say?
Show/hide user stats
Hi Treehugger - it is fine for Darren to join us. Gavin's friends aren't coming up for the road ride anymore so he may be riding with the local guys in the Peaks somewhere. I will let you know his plans in case Darren would rather join them.

So are we all still ok for Thursday? What time shall we say? About 6.30 ok for everyone?

I will send you an e-mail Treehugger with my address and directions.

See you Thurs.
Glad you're feeling better Ros.
NBT is coming plus a friend Dave. Don't worry they won't be racing round.

Mrs NTB, Ros
I'm based in Sheffield normally ride with my other half, but he often backs out at the last minute, so I'd be really keen to ride with others.
Is there any chance of us tagging along on Thursdays night ride?

Hi Mrs MBT, took a lot of searching for, but have just ordered a Specialised Epic Comp Women's one:

http://www.specialized.com/bc/SBCBkModel.jsp?spid=21934

Madness that Spech aren't doing demo bikes of this and that bike shops (I spoke to many) will only get them in as special orders, that you have to pay for. I can't think of another situation where you are expected to pay over £1000 for something you've never seen!

Hello Ambrose's sister. Gosh totally agree, how strange. I've always been able to test ride any bike.
If I remember correctly, they sell out pretty quickly and haven't had any need to have demos.

Let me know how you get on with it.
NBT is still trying to get a hardtail for me. We just missed out Yesterday on a 'Cove Handjob' off fleabay.
May go for an 'on one'.

Hi Everyone - been away for a couple of days.

Queenie - it is fine for you to join us on Thurs. It is going to be a fairly easy ride as it is Treehugger's first night ride and my first ride on my single speed. We are meeting at my place in New Mills at 6.30pm. I will e-mail you my address.

By the way we are also riding together on Sat from Hope if you are interested.
