Hello,
In the chat threads, we are planning a ride,
probably from Hope in the Peak district.
Maybe Oct. Ist.

Can anyone else come along and if so would that date be suitable?

The riding will be slightly technical. With abit of everything thrown in. Lets hope the weather improves. We rode around there today and it poured ( I finished the ride just before the cloud burst). High winds too. All good fun though.

Hi K8to - I am definitely keen to meet up during the week for rides. My only problem is that I dont have lights at the moment - so it would have to be a 6pm start for a couple of hours.

Where are you based? I am based in New Mills.

Sounds good,

I live in south Manchester so I am probably half an hour away from you. I have the day off on Thursday this week so that would be fine and next Thursday I am on a course and will finish early so that would be fine also.

Would you mind planning a route as I am clueless where that's concerned, I don't mind where?- but would be nice to have not too technical a ride to start off with.

What do you think?

K8to - Thursday is good with me. Shall we say 6pm at my place in New Mills? If you drop me an e-mail then I will give you details/ directions. I can also give you my phone number just in case.

Is anyone else up for a couple of hours on Thursday evening? Jane?

I will take you on my favourite loop around Hayfield - it will take a couple of hours at the most. There are a couple of technical bits but nothing too serious.

Hello Ros.
I took a tumble today doing the 5 dales ride in the V graphics white peak book.

So I'll let you know nearer the time whether I can ride Thursday or not. Lots of bruises and cuts, but should have mended by then.
Jane.

Jane - Oh no sorry to hear that - hope you are ok and not too hurt. Let me know about Thursday.

K8to - are you around for a ride on Thurs eve?

Ros- Thanks for the sympathy, I knew you would understand. Got a feeling K8to is on her jollies.

Hi you 2,

Sorry to hear about your fall, sounds nasty, hope you mend quickly.

I am still home on Thursday will text you at lunch time if I can make it. I am on a course but hopefully it wil finish early.

Are you sure you can handle my super fast pace!!!NOT!

Would be nice to come up by your house again if you fancy it?

Kate - Thursday is good for me. If possible I would like to leave by 6ish so that we can get back before it gets dark. I know I am going to have to deal with riding in the dark at some point! Riding from my house is also good with me - will probably go on the Hayfield circuit that I was going to take you on last week. If you want to come but can't make it at 6 then let me know - we can always say 6.30/ 7 but we will need lights. Your pace is fine by me - I was huffing and puffing up the hills last week too! Let me know what is best for you.

Jane - how are you now? Do you think you will be up for a ride by Thursday? What do you reckon about start time and location?

Anyone else fancy a ride from New Mills on Thursday night for a couple of hours?

Hello Ros and K8to. Affraid I will have to give Thurs. a miss. I'm still a bit achy. Everything seems to take twice as long to do.

Fed up cos the trails will be nice and dry now.
Enjoy yourselves, I'll be thinking of you.
Jane.

Sory to hear that Jane - it must have been a bad fall. Hope your aches and pains heal soon.

K8to - see you at 6 on Thursday.

K8to - shame you didn't come around last night as the weather cleared up by 6pm so I decided to go riding anyway. It was very wet and muddy but it didn't rain at all. When are you back from your hols? Hope you have fun!

Jane - how are you healing up after your crash? Are you around next week for a ride?

Hello Ros,
grazes are still seeping abit, it's my shoulder that is causing the problems. To add to all this I can't sleep. Which ever way I turn in the night i'ts uncomfortable.

But I am going to get back on my bike this weekend and do a pootle. Here's hoping all my confidence hasn't gone.

I'll let you know asbout next Thurs. soon. Have a good weekend.
Jane.

Jane - Sounds like you really did yourself some damage. Have you got your shoulder checked out?

Hope your pootle on the bike goes well this weekend. Hopefully see you next Thursday.

Hello Ros,
Went for a pootle today on my own around the Roman lakes. Was O.K ish. Shoulder is still a bit uncomfortable. Did a couple of downhill sections, like the Banks , mainly walked down it and lastly Linnets clough. I really have lost some confidence. It was on a steeper more rocky descent similar to linnets where I came off.
Still hope to go out Thurs. I made be on the slow side though.

Hi Jane - I don't blame you taking it easy today it sounds like you took a bit of a battering! Hopefully it won't take you long to build up your confidence again.

We have had a great weekend biking with some friends - did a 5 hour route yesterday which included going down Jacobs ladder and rushup edge. It was the first time I had been down Jacobs and I really enjoyed it. Went out again today for 3 hours over by Stanage which was cool. Great weather which makes all the difference!

Hopefully see you on Thursday.
