Oh Ros I hope you are o.k.

What happened?

We'll all have some nice scars for next spring, when the shorts come out.

You know that bridleway that i met you at last week Mrs NBT by Brookbottom? Well I was just starting to turn right to go up the hill - stood up to try and ride as much as poss and my chain came off. I ended up flying off my bike onto the gravel and rocks. It was pretty sore at the time and so I lay there for a couple of minutes before I got up and then a couple of horses came by and asked if they could get past - i was kind of blocking the bridleway! I do feel the need to go and finish the ride though cos that was going to be my last ride before Xmas as my family are here now. I think i may have to abandon them for a couple of hours either today or tomorrow.

Gosh, I can't believe the horse riders didn't check that you were o.k.

Are you a bit stiff today?
That was really unlucky for the chain to come off. Worse coz it's taking strain whilst you are powering up the hill.

Hope we can get out soon. Let me know.
Jane.

Hi guys - anyone up for a ride on New Years Day? Probably a 11am start (not too early) from Hayfield. 2-3 hours depending on how hungover everyone is!

Hi Ros
hope that you're not too bruised.
I'm thinking that I'll see you on New Year's eve with Rob and Jenny, Jon's been arranging things. So we'll be out on Monday.

I've got a new bike....we're just waiting for the bits to arrive (fingers crossed tomorrow) and then hopefully I should be out for a test ride tomorrow :-).
Hope that you had a great xmas, see you sunday.

Hi Julie - Gavin told me you guys were coming out on New Years Eve too - that is great, it will be good to catch up with you. We are trying to get some tickets for the Fox but Gavin has been twice now and it has been closed both times. We will try again tomorrow. See you on Sunday!

By the way - really cool about your new bike - what have you got?
Show/hide user stats
hi all - did you have a good ride New Years Day. Had a few days in the Lakes. Did Grizedale on Sat, climbed on Sund. walking on Mon. Absolutely knackered now!!

We had a great ride - except there were only 3 of us. The rest were too hungover! Except Jane who has a bad cold.

Acutally it was great weather - beautiful sunshine - we went up onto Kinder and enjoyed the view.

Sounds like you had a good New Year trip. See you on Sunday for the Holmfirth ride.

yep great.

looking forward to it. Sounds like it will be quite a group going.

Hi all,

I am feeling brave and would like to come along on the ride on Sunday what time and where are you all meeting?

Thanks K8to

Oh and happy new year!
Show/hide user stats
Yes see you all Sunday.
I'm glad it's going to be a sociable ride, coz my fitness is going down the pan fast.

K8to - it is 10am on Sun in Holmfirth - have a look at Ambrose's sister's thread called north peaks ride.

By the way I have next Weds 10th off work (flexi day - yipee) - is anyone around and up for a ride during the day?

Hi Ros
sorry we couldn't make it on New Year's day. Once we got back we all had tea, choclit and some cointreau we (Rob and I ) got carried away with playing Goldeneye and Mario Kart on the Nintendo ..Jon could only watch in horror. We didn't get to bed till 4am, so didn't wake up till late. Quite gutted as I felt ok on Monday morning - no hangover (deserved to feel a lot worse)Still yet to try the new bike out properly, so may well go out up here at the weekend.

Thanks for organising a great New Year, I really enjoyed it. (Jon said he'd sort you out for the tickets.)and thanks for driving.

Have a great ride at the weekend :-)

Julie - Shame you didn't come along on New Years Day as it was a good ride and the weather was really goo. But understandable given the time you got to bed. It was a good night - I enjoyed it too, even though I wasn't drinking. It was £5 each for the tickets so Jon can just give Gavin a tenner next time he sees him.

Anyway hopefully ride together soon. You will be down for good soon anyway so will be able to come out with us anytime.

I'm going to try to make it too. My other half is working, so, unless I've got to work, I'll be there.

Anyone up for a ride during the day this Weds (10th Jan)? Prob with me and Mrs NBT but maybe just me. Also we were thinking of riding at Macclesfield forest or maybe the Whaley Bridge/ Buxton circuit.
Show/hide user stats
Great ride today Ros.
Even though the forest seemed to be in a cloud and the trails were just running streams, it was enjoyable.

I think we'll Macc forest down for one of our Shecycles rides, maybe early summer?
Show/hide user stats
Yes I enjoyed it too - thanks for leading the route. Sounds like a good plan for a girlie ride sometime.

Enjoy your ski holiday and we'll catch up when you get back - must get motivated for more night rides!

Trio - how about that night ride around Rivington sometime next week? Are you around? I could do Tues or Thurs next week.
