Really interested to read about your laser eye surgery Treehugger (I posted in chat not knowing you'd got this thread going in here!). I had a consultation at Ultralase on Friday and have been umming and aahing about it ever since.
UL are bleedin expensive though (they kind of justify this by having a 'lifetime care guarantee' which means that they'll retreat your eyes again free of charge if they worsen whether that's 12 months or 12 years down the line - according to them other laser eye providers only offer a year). Would be looking at forking out about £4000 though for both eyes. Ouch. Going to arrange a consultation with Optical Express too though - just to compare what they offer and for how much.
The other thing I didn't really like about Ultralase was how they barely mentioned the surgeon or their qualifications (in fact it was me who asked them and the advisor basically just said he was 'really nice'....). Were you given much information about your surgeon Treehugger, before you went ahead with it?
Everything else I've read since has said the most important thing in all this is the person who actually does the treatment. What laser you get (which is what most clinics seem to harp on about) is actually second place to the person who's working the equipment and fiddling with your eyes.
Hmmm.
