The flat bars on the bike had a strange backwards curve on them made the reach a bit  short even for me. I've put some race face flat bars on and it's much better.

Righto, it seemed OK to me but I didn't go any distance on it, I'll see.

Hi Carolyn, yes am doing some pedalling, or at least did so in Majorca.  Surprising I find it easier on a road bike than on a MTB.  Went out with the kiddies on Sat morning and did not find it very comfy climbing on the wider MTB bars.

Whilst in Majorca mostly rode straightish flattish roads so did not have to control brakes and steering on bends.  The one windy descent I did, we stopped the back brake down to constantly rub on the rim, then used the quick release to take it off once at the bottom.  Very tedious.

Good idea though Sharon!

Glad you got some mileage done, you dopn't have the benefit of flat roads round here though!

Any news on when you get the new bike Carolyn?

Will just have to go out in the Rufford direction i guess until I get bored of it.

Thought I'd done well with an attempt at driving yesterday (back from the velodrome) until got to my street and had to parallel park and knew there was no chance of being able to move around as I should in order to complete the maneouvre

But loads of people can't parallel park, even without breaking their collar bone

Nu bike allegedly ready Wednesday but I'm not holding my breath

Looks like I'll have to wait a bit longer than that for mine, still being built up at Wallis cycles.

Take your point Trio, about the parallel parking, it is usually me that has to park the car for the OH as his spacial awareness is worse than mine.

Maybe when Carolyn gets her skinny wheeled bike a few of us could take a ride out onto the flatlands towards Rufford/Southport? Trio and I have both said before now we fancy exploring that way, be a gentle way to break Carolyns bike in and hopefully a route you could manage with your injury Sharon?
