I've had a look on there once or twice and I wasn't impressed at all I did think some of the stuff was offensive. Someone came on here but I think were from the Bike Magic forum they were crude on here. I reported the link and I kept my eye on the other forum and sure enough it was a bloke.Stupidly they used the same daft caption and name.
Some of the people I know use to go on STW but I can't imagine any of them would be so offensive. It's a shame it spoils it for others.

Yeh, you occassionally get the odd thread about mountain biking on thw STW forum.
I quite like looking at the Women's Lounge Forum on www.mtbr.com.

Once bitten twice shy for me I'm afraid.. much prefer shecyles, we are all so friendly which is what it is all about isn't it? Glad I posted on STW though because it introduced new girls to this forum and the ride. I am finding STW very aggressive and VERY male ! PS If loads of blokes turn up on the ride you all have my permission to give me a kicking:-)

I've seen the best post ever now on singletrack...
Title: Question about women....why does it sound like they are bleeding a radiator when taking a wee....and the thread is catching on!!
No, I couldn't believe it either. Probably posted by some spotty yoof. I better stop now before it starts into a rant.
sorry

 need we say more...

bike scooby.. no way???! really?? like i said before, some one needs to get out on their bike more. But i dont think the wierd comments are just from the men, ive seen quite a few posted from women too. Shame really.
If you cant say something nice then dont say nothing at all- old chinese proverb say.

I like the thread today about washing machines, even funnier is the number of (presumably) blokes that have replied!
|

There are a number of women on STW (I won't metion any names) that definately like to "lead the guys on", when you meet them you then wonder why!! oops I'll stop now, I'm starting to sound bitchy.

 |
 Handbags out...
|
 |
...but I know what you mean.
It doesn't take much to lead the STW lot on does it?
I once commented on one of their posts featuring a scantily clad women draped over a bike - something on the lines of get a life. You ought to have seen the replies!!
They all must be under the thumb and never let out on their bikes much. Poor little boys.

My clubs web page got slagged off by them, and I'd never even been on there or posted the page on there. I thought well if you don't like what you see don't join us ! Thats the idea of having a web site isn't it so that people get an idea of what you are about. I am pleased to say that a rivals club member stuck up for me ! Someone send me the link and said 'do you know about this ?'

I still have stw as my homepage but maybe it's time for a change. It takes longer and longer to scroll through all the crubbish - the majority of threads I don't even bother clicking on any more and even the ones which start off sensible soon degenerate. Reckon the only reason that they haven't migrated across here is that we're too grown up ;>).
Move along now lads - nothing to see here.

Hello everyone - it's really interesting to note that we all seem to feel the same about STW. I reckon my innocent posting was such a breath of fresh air for them (lots of OT and rubbish by the look of it) that they just couldn't restrain themselves and got over-excited (LOL). It's so nice to hear that we are all sensible human beings that just want to ride. hurrah for Shecycles !

Hurrah indead! Tried STW once, got confused at all of the abbreviations and bored of the pretentious postings - little boys never do grow up!
Remember that the 'STW style' will only attract more people of the same nature - there are blokes out there who ride for fun just as we do and support and encourage us girls (just as they need our support from time to time). They sometimes need a slap for being cheeky or over protective but mean well!
Don't tar them all with the same brush....
