Hi,

I didn't find it too bad getting up off the floor.  In fact I've fallen off again today (ooops!!).  Was going up a mega hill and had inches to go to the top and couldn't quite make it, or in fact get my feet out of the pedals quick enough!!  Luckily just got a small graze on my elbow.

Just read the Times article, yes quite interesting other people find it hard too.  Sometimes I'm so tempted to go back to the half toe clips, but they just don't look cool, so I'm sticking with it and hopefully will get used to them this summer.

Anyway, had a lovely ride apart from the fall right at the very end of the ride!!

Have been riding clipless since the mid-80's, stick at it girls believe me you do get used to them in fact so much so I would not consider riding anything else now.

I learnt by riding them on my commuting bike, had to clip/unclip frequently at all the traffic lights in Leamington, it was good practise.... and yes have fallen off, well sort of; could not get my usual foot out so got the other one out and was then stood astride bike taking foot out of shoe in order to get shoe off pedal!!!!

Hi Sharon,

Good to know other people have problems when trying out the clipless pedals.  I am sticking with it though, but still not quite 100% comfortable getting them out quickly or up hill.

The turbo trainer is actually good practice for clipping in and out.

Also note yesterdays Fleche Wallone classic one of the pros hit the deck and he was still clipped in.

Actually that is not how it is supposed to work, if you fall over on the bike your feet are supposed to spring free of the pedals and that has certainly happened to me.
