Hi Old Bird, really looking forward to the ride on Saturday. Are you riding your Rock Lobster? I'll be curious to see what you think of that bike as I'm looking at buying the Tig Team SL frame to upgrade from my Orange Gringo. See you Saturday :-)

I’d love to join you if I feel better by Saturday. I’ve been unwell for a few weeks now and I don’t seem to be getting any better :-( I should get some test results today and hopefully find out what’s wrong with me.
I suppose I could just come over for some gossip and retail therapy :-)

Hi Old Bird, also hoping to come along on Saturday. Will be getting the train, and staying over in London on the Friday - because of this I will have quite a lot of stuff (too much to ride with anyway), so hopefully I will be able to leave it in the back of someones car?
Really looking forward to it!

 |
Ooooh, I'm so tempted. Can you count me in? :) I'll be coming on the train from Waterloo too. Will have to bring a pack lunch to justify it to myself.
Tina.

 Yeah, come on Tina :-)
We will have to have a train head count so that we can all find each other and have a gossip on the way!

Vicky M - hi there! Highly likely I will be riding "the sofa" (full suss). However there will be at least one Rock Lobster on Saturday. I have the 853 and am very pleased with it. Kirsty has a 17" which I think would be right for you and I am sure she will let you have a go. Also her SO may bring his ... but it's a singlespeed!
Anu - poor you, let's hope you find out what's causing this. Why don't you come round with my group at a gentle pace? Your SO could join the partners ride. There will be nice cakes afterwards!
Claire T - no problem. Will you be riding in the afternoon as well? If you are, you can leave it in mine but if you are doing just the morning then double check! Having said that, we will all try to meet back for lunch at around 1.00 pm but this has to be flexible!
Tina - you have to come ... you know you want to!! Look forward to seeing you again.

 |
Old bird - please excuse my ignorance, but where abouts is Swinley? I assume that I just head up the M3..... Do you have a postcode or map ref for the centre?
Brozza do you still want a lift?
|
 |
I'm planning on coming along on Saturday. I'm not sure the trails will be quite as dry as last year though. Every time I look out of window at the moment it seems to be raining. Fingers crossed for the weekend though, Metcheck is looking good for Bracknell at the mo, we'll have to keep watching.
|
 |
or i could give you one radders? i have nice shiny new second hand car now... i am not sure if tom is going to come too or not, but have ordered bike racks for the roof and they should be here by then.
|
 |
Radders - go off at junction 3 of the M3, follow signs for A322 to Bracknell, it's a dual carriageway. Eventually you will come to a large roundabout (don't go off at the Windsor exit)and it is signed to the left (filter lane) with a large brown tourist sign for The Look Out/Discovery Centre on the B3430, it's 500 metres along on the left hand side. It's about 20 minutes from the motorway junction.
Emma - will be good to see you again. Keep the positive weather thoughts!
|
 |
Brozza - Congrats on the car! I'll give you a call during the week to rrange something.

Hi Old Bird - I have a hobby that I keep quiet. I'm an allotmenteer. I have an allotment on a plot of 25 and unfortunately the hedge surrounding the plots has been allowed to grow into trees. We need a proper hedge to stop people breaking in and helping themselves.
As I'm one of the younger members we took it upon ourselves (with permission) to sort the hedge out and makes things more secure for the older less agile members. I don't want to call them OAPs!
We have to complete the project before the birds start nesting and the trees start to grow again.
So we're cutting tops of trees, making a cut towards the trunk base and then bending the tree down and weaving it into the next tree, then repeat until we reach the end.
Hope I've not bored you all!!

Gela - I'm an allotmenteer too! Spent all yesterday chopping bramble. Actually convinced a very girlie friend of mine to help, which was quite amusing. I've never even seen her not wearing a skirt and she was hacking down branches in sweats and a hoodie with the best of them, haha! We could take this over in chat... ;)

Gela/Tina-M, I don't have an allotment but I do have a veggie garden. I love this time of year, digging it over, putting muck into it and pouring over seed catalogues to see what I can grow. My neighbours think I'm mad because my tomato plants reside outside my very sunny front door.
I have the last laugh though when I pick all my own produce fresh and not a piece of plastic wrapping in sight.I put asparagus in last year, don't know if it has worked though.
Old Bird - not sure if I will make it this weekend, been poorly since Christmas, just had jaundice followed by tonsilities. I really don't want to push it at the moment as I just can't have anymore time off work.

 |
As long as i wake up in time i should be there
|
 |
Hi I'd like to join in on this please. Will just be me as OH has to work.
